One of the biggest lessons I have learned in life is how to laugh at myself. I used to not be able to do this at all. Then I got married. Tisha laughs at me so much that I felt left out.
As Christians, we have to be able to laugh at ourselves! I believe humor is a integral part of being, not only human, but children of God. We, as Christians, do some dumb things and communicate things to the "outside world" that we don't realize sometimes.
So occasionally I will share some of those things. I may become creative at some point to write my own, but at least for today I will borrow from Joel Kilpatrick's "A Field Guide to Evangelicals and Their Habitat" and his website, http://www.larknews.com/. NOTE: his website is full of fake news! He's a Christian who simply thinks that we (Christians and more specifically, Evangelicals) are a hilarious group of people.
Here is what Joel lists as the work schedule for Associate Pastor's:
Monday - Wipe down urinals; gather up used tissues and bulletins in sanctuary
Tuesday - Empty Diaper Genies in nursery wing; sanitize
Wednesday - Work on "sermons I'd give if I had the chance" project
Thursday - Wash pastor's golf balls
Friday - Drop off pastor's dry cleaning; visit dying elderly
Saturday - On-call for counseling
Sunday - Give announcements
